Descartes Part 6 - Descartes, God and Science
Descartes concluded that God was indispensable for his conclusions regarding the pursuit of truth.
However, Descartes was quick to conclude also that once we have the method for establishing truth we do not need God any longer. Which seems to confirm that Descartes wanted to free science from its theological findings.
However it should be recognized that Descartes goal was not to produce a godless world since he Descartes believed that God is on our side in proving the legitimacy of science.
He did conclude that it seems that after we have gathered the information, we do not need God in order to do science.
God is therefore on the outside so to speak in verifying the physics of the universe.
