E. FreedomNietzsche does not want to do away with freedom. He demands an authentic freedom, however, as opposed to a phony freedom of universal equality. Noble persons, the superior persons, should be free to take risks, to strive for great accomplishments, to suffer and even to sacrifice themselves. Freedom of this sort, which Nietzsche considers to be true freedom, cannot be extended to everyone without cheapening it since the herd is incapable of being truly free.
